The DIGITAL CAMERA for BEGINNERS a two day -weekend- course, we also run this course as one-to-one on week days. This course is also suitable for those who use a film based camera.

The aim of the course is to develop confidence in handling your SLR camera and taking better photographs, through discussions, demonstrations and practical sessions.

This is a practical hands on course. The students learn about the many functions of the camera and how this affect the look their photographs. The tutor explains the relationship between aperture and shutter speed, the manual settings, ISO, white balance, picture quality, metering systems and when to use JPEG & RAW. In addition, the tutor discusses lighting, composing and correct exposure to create interesting photographs.

Students work with the tutor on location in the beautiful village of Dulwich. The tutor gives advice how to approach a subject and when to apply the different camera functions.

At the end of the course, all the photographs taken are evaluated through constructive appraisal.

Weekend courses start at 10.30am and finish at 5.00pm including a short break for lunch.
