Light - printing with photographic emulsion on different materials.
weekend course or two week days £195 + materials
One-to-One
lessons are available
This is a highly creative and enjoyable printing process that encourages
participants to explore new ways of giving expression to creative ideas.
This
creative and versatile process offers almost endless ways of combining images
and materials and offers an extension to visual expression using other than the familiar photographic papers.
What
is Liquid Light? Liquid Light is a photographic emulsion -silver gelatin-
coated onto a variety of surfaces and materials including stone, silk, canvas
and almost any type of paper, and allows black & white negatives to be printed
on those surfaces.
The
tutor gives a step-by-step demonstration and participants practice how to coat
the emulsion onto the various surfaces including fabric, wood and different paper
surfaces. Participants print from their own negatives. Negatives can be supplied
by the tutor. In addition the finished prints are toned and retouched.
At the end of the course, all prints made will be evaluated through positive appraisal and constructive feedback.
Weekend courses start at 10.30am and finish at 5.00pm including a short break for lunch.
