There are practical sessions on both days. One-to-One lessons and professional training are available.

This practical, hands-on course covers working with studio flash lighting and available light. Participants learn and practice different studio lighting set ups. Composition is discussed
and applied. The tutor demonstrates how to archive interesting character studies.

The tutor discusses the different approaches and styles used in portrait photography: the unconventional portrait, the arranged portrait, the extended portrait and the candid portrait.

The tutor shows a portfolio with personal and commission work to encourage students to explore and develop imaginative ideas for their own photography.

Students practice with their own cameras. The tutor demonstrates how to create interesting character studies.

Digital files are downloaded on the computer for assessment. Films are developed and printed overnight ready for next day discussion.

At the end of the course, all the photographs taken will be evaluated through positive appraisal and constructive feedback.

Weekend courses start at 10.30am and finish at 5.00pm including a short break for lunch.
